Most people searching for composite decking are really searching for one thing: a deck that survives the climate without being sanded and oiled every season. Composite gets part of the way there by mixing wood flour with plastic — but the wood is still in the board, and the board is still on a ship.
We took the wood out entirely. Our decking is solid recycled HDPE, extruded from post-consumer plastic collected across northern Tanzania. It does not absorb water, so the long rains and coastal humidity do nothing to it. It contains no cellulose, so termites ignore it. Colour runs through the whole profile, so a scratch is not a repair job.
And because it is manufactured here, you get a price in shillings, a lead time in weeks rather than months, and the option to walk into the factory and hold a sample before you commit.

Is composite decking available in Tanzania?
Most composite decking sold in Tanzania is imported, which means freight, duty, exchange-rate exposure and lead times measured in months. We manufacture a solid recycled plastic alternative in Arusha, so boards can be collected from the factory or delivered nationally without any import step.
What is the difference between composite decking and recycled plastic decking?
Composite boards are a mix of wood flour and plastic. Our boards are solid recycled HDPE with no wood content at all. Removing the wood removes the part that absorbs water, feeds termites and grows mould — which is why our decking suits coastal humidity, safari camps and the long rains better than a wood-filled composite.
How much does decking cost per square metre?
Supply is quoted at TSh 160,000 per square metre for standard decking. Use the calculator to convert your area into linear metres of 4×1.5 inch planks and a total figure before you request a formal quotation.
Does it get hot underfoot?
Like any dark decking, lighter colours stay noticeably cooler in direct sun. We advise on colour and board orientation for pool surrounds and open terraces at quotation stage.
Can it be installed by a normal fundi?
Yes. It cuts, drills and screws like hardwood using standard tools. We supply a fixing detail with every order and recommend a steel or recycled-plastic sub-frame, pre-drilled fixings and an expansion gap on long runs.
How long does it last?
The material does not rot, split or need re-coating, so the deck's life is governed by the sub-frame and fixings rather than the boards. Our earliest lodge and school installations are still in service with no board replacement.
